The crash test can be carried out with various vehicles and speeds. The following requirements must be met for certification:
- The vehicle must be stopped within 25m
- The vehicle must be so destroyed that it is not possible to continue driving
- No parts of the lock must fly away in such a way that someone could be injured.
FairGuard passed the test with a penetration depth of 13.2m.
This tests whether the lock can be overridden within a certain period of time. A distinction is made between different classes, which differ primarily in the severity of the tools that can be used for this purpose. The test is as follows:
- Two people have 10 minutes to thoroughly examine the lock.
- You have 2 minutes to select the right tool from a table. (As much as they can carry)
- You have 3 minutes to manipulate the lock with the selected tool so that protection is no longer guaranteed.
Here, it is tested whether it is possible to push the lock away instead of moving in. At the beginning, the truck is at the lock and tries to push the lock away at full throttle in 1st gear. Here, too, the truck must not travel further than 25 m. FairGaurd passed the test with a penetration depth of just 2.75m.
